Greetings! My name is Bailey Adling. I graduate from California State University, Long Beach on May 16, 2022 with my Master of Science in Counseling, Option in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential. My school counseling internship and secondary education work experience prepared me for my role as a professional school counselor. I am passionate about advocating for equity in education with an evidence-based, multi-tiered system of supports approach. I look forward to advocating for systemic change at my future school site by working collaboratively with all stakeholders.
School counseling is not just my profession—it's my passion! I became a school counselor, because I believe all students can learn and succeed. I pivoted from teaching to school counseling, because I felt ill-equipped to address the systemic and individual barriers impacting my students’ academic and career achievement. My mission as a school counselor is to implement, deliver, assess and sustain a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the American School Counselor Association's (ASCA) National Model. I am committed to all students' lifelong success. I will support students' academic, social-emotional, and career success with a multi-tiered system of supports approach. I will advocate for students' equitable access to a school counseling program by collaborating with stakeholders to promote positive systematic change. I will also use data to identify inequities, monitor performance, and propose recommendations. I will deliver direct and in-direct student services as prescribed by ASCA. My solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and person-centered approaches are best suited to meet the diverse needs of my students. I will uphold professional school counseling ethical and legal standards by consulting with other school counselors, seeking on-going professional development, and maintaining professional memberships.
